I first heard the word “alas” in this movie, and from then on I thought it meant “at last.” For years, I thought Albus enjoyed the earwax flavor. Also, I would always use “alas” as “at last” when I would write and stuff. When I discovered what it really meant, I felt rather dumb indeed.
